Clickbank seems to be a reputable company with some good quality products and some not so good.  This isn’t really about Clickbank it is about the guru’s who make and market Clickbank products.  This is a story about how I discovered a secret hidden deep inside the pages of the MEGA affiliate marketing website we call Clickbank.

My little story:

My name is Bill Saint and I live in a city about 45 minutes outside of Boston, Ma.  In mid 2007 I realized that the economy was on a downward spiral.  I wanted to figure out a way to make some extra money. 

So I began searching Google for some passive income wealth building strategies.  I started studying real estate, specifically foreclosures, and internet home based businesses.
I was especially intrigued by affiliate marketing, because I liked the idea of not having to build my own website, not having to worry about holding inventory and not shipping out products. 

So I began to really research the concept and doing what I do best…… LOOK FOR THE CATCH! 

After several months of studying various methods of internet marketing and learning concepts about generating web traffic I began to promote several Clickbank products…..
But I could never achieve the success talked about by the self proclaimed affiliate marketing “gurus.”
 

NO, I DIDN’T QUIT CLICKBANK…….. YET!

I continued to research and fine tune my campaigns. I read marketing books.  I studied copywriting techniques. I watched online marketing videos and of course bought many of the hyped up internet marketing products…..

But this was NOT money and time wasted!

By carefully studying the industry for almost two years; I learned a total “Black Hat” TOP SECRET method used by the SUPER ELITE internet marketers!

I know what you’re thinking.  And……

No, I’m not going to charge you for this secret insider information. Thats what THEY like to do.  I’m going to share my discovery with you here for FREE!  Just keep reading my friend….

This Guru method which I’m about to share is actually evil genius, but too evil for me to ever use.

The EVIL Plan Revealed:

The Clickbank Gurus target people searching Google for how to make money online or how to work from home.  Average people just trying to make some extra money in a difficult economy.  Let’s call this average person (Joe) to make it easier to explain and understand.

Joe does a Google search one night for “make money online” and all types of internet marketing ads come up.  Joe gets confused very quickly, but he really wants to learn how to make some extra money online.  He begins browsing around on the internet.  One site just seems to lead to another and Joe gets tangled in an internet marketing web. Strategically spun together by the top internet marketers.

Joe starts reading the guru’s internet marketing sales hype and likes that he can make money with no website by promoting affiliate products.  He reads that he can earn commissions of 50, 60, 75 and even 100% promoting these products from a company called Clickbank!  He just has to promote or market the affiliate link provided and Clickbank will even process the credit card transactions for him!

So with the hype presented by the guru, Joe is thinking to himself “I don’t need my own product, I don’t need a merchant account, I don’t need a website, I CAN DO THIS!” 

The guru ends up selling our boy Joe a “how to market affiliate products online” course ranging from $47 to $1997 depending on the course.  This “how to” course is supposed to contain all the information our buddy Joe will needs to succeed making money online.  Little does Joe know there will be many more products that he will “need” down the road, but that is a topic for another day.

Joe buys the course and starts marketing a Clickbank product or two.  He begins spending his time and money placing ads in Google adwords just like he was taught to do by the guru.  He starts generating some traffic, but finds that he is only making a few sales here and there.  The money he is making isn’t even close to enough to pay for his ad campaigns. 

This is exactly the reason why the Clickbank gurus have convinced Joe to market their product!  They knew all along that they could never make a profit simply selling the low end Clickbank product. 
Why would they pay Joe a 65% commission if it were profitable to sell these products themselves?
What they do is use the Clickbank affiliate page to capture leads for their future promotions or backend products. 

They use Joe’s advertising efforts to get FREE qualified email addresses! That is the real game here!
Our naive Joe is paying for all of this traffic and missing 98% of the benefit!  The internet marketing guru is getting FREE HOT LEADS on Joe’s dime!  Joe only gets paid for people who buy right away, but after that person leaves his affiliate page they are lost forever.  He will never see a return on that investment. 

The guru places an “opt in” form on the affiliate sales page or somewhere in the sales process.  Now a certain percentage of Joe’s generated traffic will at least provide the guru with their email address so that they can promote their high end products to that lead for life! 
How much of those sales does our boy Joe get?  ZERO!
This is why YOU need to Quit Clickbank and learn how to build your own email marketing list!  If you have a real list of people who trust you to sell them products; then you have created a passive income machine for life!  This is real wealth building!  Don’t throw away your marketing dollars like poor Joe.  Invest your money in building a qualified email marketing list!

I know what you are probably thinking…. But Bill how do I set up a system that will capture qualified leads?

Well if you are anything like I was you are saying to yourself “I have no idea how to make an opt in page or how to capture people’s email addresses.”  Truthfully I didn’t have the patience or desire to learn the technical skills needed to put a lead generating system like that together when I first learned about this secret.  I just knew that I could not continue to pass my qualified leads on to the gurus any longer!

I started scouring the World Wide Web to find out how I could quit clickbank!  I didn’t want to take the time and effort to learn how to put such a system together.  I wanted to find a system that I could “plug into” and start using right away!  I searched for a system that I didn’t need to set up.  All I wanted to do was drive traffic to it and watch it do the rest!

And this all came with an entire product line ranging from $49 to $10,000! With excellent affiliate commissions on every sale!

I was super excited and joined right away!  I realized how amazing this system was because I paid really close attention as I went through the system for myself.  I realized that this was exactly what I needed to succeed!  Now I could have a system of my own to drive traffic to!
And best of all if the customer choose NOT to purchase I would have their email address for future attempts!  JUST LIKE THE GURUS!!
